Angelina Jolie has made a rare confession about her love life, 10 years after her split from Brad Pitt. In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the actress spoke about romantic relationships while promoting her latest film, "Couture."
In the film, Jolie plays Maxine Walker, a filmmaker and mother of a daughter who falls in love with cinematographer Anton (Louis Garrel) after being diagnosed with breast cancer. There, the actress admitted that she didn't feel connected to her character's love story.
"To be honest, I haven't dated anyone since I separated from my husband a decade ago," Jolie said, referring to her relationship with Brad Pitt.

The couple separated in 2016, but the divorce was not finalized until 2024.
"So I created the idea that that part of my life is no longer the center, especially when I'm focused on my children and my family," she continued. "It took me a while to realize that my character could love her daughter, be completely devoted to her, and, at the same time, need love as a woman and accept that."
Jolie then spoke about how entering her fifties has brought her a new phase of self-discovery, especially through her relationship with her daughters, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne.
"Maybe I'm slowly coming back to the person I used to be," she said. "I'm discovering something now that my daughters are grown. They speak to me as young women, and looking at them, I understand what I want for them, what I don't want them to lose, and what I want them to always keep. It also reminds me of things that maybe I myself have lost along the way."

The actress added that her daughters are helping her reconnect with an earlier version of herself.
"I think, in a way, they're bringing me back to my old self," Jolie said. "My desire for them to have strength, openness, gentleness, confidence and courage reminds me of how important those qualities are. I think now they also want me to be more than just 'mom.' There's room for me to be that woman again, not just a mother."

The Oscar winner is a mother of six. In addition to Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne, she also has three sons – Maddox, Pax and Knox – with ex-husband Brad Pitt, whom she married in 2014.
