Ben Affleck has reportedly given his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez his full share of their $60 million mansion without any payment.
According to TMZ, the property division agreement has been modified and includes a “transfer of property between the spouses.” The document does not specify the exact nature of the transfer, but sources close to the situation have said that the actor has transferred his entire share of the property to the singer at no cost.
The mansion is located in Beverly Hills, California, and was purchased in June 2023 for an estimated $60.85 million, while the couple was still married. The sprawling 38,000-square-foot property includes 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, and a basketball court, and was intended as their shared home.
At the time, the couple reportedly bought the house with cash. Then, about a year later, they put the property up for sale amid rumors of divorce.
Despite reports that Jennifer Lopez considered the house too big and that Ben Affleck had never liked the property, the singer filed for divorce two months later.
That same summer, Ben Affleck bought another villa in Pacific Palisades for about $20.5 million, so he could be closer to his children from his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Jennifer Lopez then bought a house in Los Angeles for about $18 million for herself and her twins.
However, with this new development, it seems that the future of the villa is completely in the hands of Jennifer Lopez, who recently said that she feels "free" after the breakup and is going through a new period in her life.
In an interview, she said:
"I'm in a happy period. For the first time I feel that I'm free and in control of my life. I feel very good."
