History has shown, at least so far, that Big Brother is won by those who know how to create tension, build strong alliances or dominate loud debates. But history took a turn that many did not predict at the start of the fourth season of BBVK. "Big Brother VIP Kosova 4" ended with the announcement of the winner of Londrim Mekaj, a character who did not adhere to any unwritten rules of the reality show.
This is precisely what made his victory different because for the first time in the history of "Big Brother VIP" in Kosovo and Albania, the most conflicted figure did not win, neither the protagonist of the biggest dramas, nor the coldest and most strategic player. A man who built his journey inside the house on positive energy, on respect for others and on an authenticity that did not waver even in the most tense moments won.
From milking cows in the village to the stage lights
One of the most beautiful moments of the season was Londrim's story about his life before his sudden television fame. He revealed that he started working at the age of 7-8, in a reality where childhood had no games, but responsibilities. He grew up in the village, among the village chores, where he would wake up early to milk the cows, then go to school and go back to work.
He spoke of poverty, but without dramatizing it; he spoke of economic impossibilities, but without presenting himself as a victim; he spoke of a lack that was both material and emotional, admitting that for many years he had kept inside himself feelings that he had not known how to express. But even in that reality, Londrim dreamed. He sang and performed in front of the village animals and imagined that they were people.
At the age of 21, he decided to leave the village to build a new life in the city, knowing that there was no guaranteed security, but he was convinced that he deserved more from life than the limits of the circumstances in which he had grown up.
A style that defied expectations
If in all editions of Big Brother we are accustomed to a certain typology of the protagonist – often harsh, ironic, dominant and/or prone to conflict – Londrim was 180 degrees away from this scheme. He is energetic, expressive and free in the way he moved, dressed and expressed himself, but in relationships he remained gentle and calm.
Inside the house, he would dance in the morning, laugh out loud, bring spontaneous humor, and create an atmosphere without the need to create unnecessary drama. When the other residents were fighting and insulting each other, Londrim would dance with the bears and reindeer that decorated the end-of-year holidays.
He has often been judged for his style and appearance both inside and outside the house, because it doesn't match the traditional male appearance on screen, but he didn't change himself to become more acceptable. He even went to the finale dressed like no one else before.
It was precisely this refusal to conform to everything we are used to seeing that made it special, because London seemed like it wasn't even trying to declare itself a "winner," but was simply being itself.
A victory without insults and without harsh strategies
Throughout the season, Londrim was never identified with low insults, personal attacks, or strategies aimed at weakening the other in order to strengthen himself. When there were debates, he participated, but always with dignity; when he saw injustice, he reacted, but without becoming aggressive.
In a format like Big Brother, where conflict is often the main way to get attention, he chose not to use it at all. He chose to be good in an environment that often rewards the opposite, and that was the bravest act of the entire season.
From being unknown to massive support
Before entering the house, Londrimi admitted that he had about 4 thousand followers on social networks, a modest figure by the standards of a VIP format. During his stay in the house, he exceeded the figure of 100 thousand followers (currently he counts more than 156 thousand), an increase that was not achieved by scandals or sensational controversies.
This increase shows that the audience liked and ultimately voted for a character who looked the same in every situation.

An unusual victory
In the history of Big Brother VIP in Kosovo and Albania, the winners have often been figures with a strong media profile, with conflicts, romances or strategies. This victory is historic because Londrim is the first to win without making the conflict a means of identity. He proved that the Albanian public, in Kosovo and Albania, when the character is real and interesting, votes for the person, not just for the game.
Today, cynicism is often considered cleverness and aggressiveness is seen as a sign of strength of character. However, Londrim Mekaj's journey within the home was a clear counterargument to this culture. He showed that you can be energetic without being aggressive, sensitive without being weak, and fair without violating anyone's dignity.
His victory suggests that audiences are ready to reward authenticity, positivity, and kindness, even when they don't fit the traditional formula of the show.
Sometimes, to win, you don't have to be stronger than others; you just have to stick with yourself. And in London's case, your own self proved to be more powerful than any strategy other residents had.
