Justin Baldoni has spoken out for the first time since he and Blake Lively reached an agreement, ending their long legal battle.
In a video posted on social media, the actor appeared alongside his wife, Emily Baldoni, who said that they both feel an "incredible gratitude" for everyone who has supported them since Blake Lively filed charges against the actor and director of the film "The End of Us" in December 2024.
"Gratitude has saved us," Justin said.
However, Emily stressed that this gratitude does not diminish the injustice and pain their family has experienced over the past few years.
She confessed that they have been through a difficult time, trying to understand how such a situation could happen, especially when, according to her, everything was presented as a war in defense of women. Emily added that the entire family has faced great trauma.
Justin also explained why they chose not to speak earlier.
"A lot of hurtful things have been said over the years," he said, while Emily added: "And untruths."
"This created a lot of noise and we didn't want to add to it. We decided to let justice do its job," the actor continued.
Emily added that the truth and facts spoke for themselves. Justin said that now their family is in the process of healing after an experience that he described as traumatic and publicly thanked everyone who supported them at a time when they could not speak.
"The word 'thank you' is not enough," he said.
Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively reached a settlement on May 4, just two weeks before the case was set to go to trial. The settlement came a month after a judge dismissed 10 of Blake Lively's 13 claims, including a sexual harassment charge against Baldoni.
In the joint statement following the agreement, the two emphasized that the film "It Ends with Us" remains a project they are proud of and that its purpose was to raise awareness of domestic violence and support survivors.
They acknowledged that the process was not easy and that the concerns raised by Blake Lively deserved to be heard. They also emphasized their commitment to safe workplaces and their hope that this agreement will allow everyone to move forward in peace, including in the public space.
According to reports, neither Blake Lively nor Justin Baldoni received any financial compensation from the settlement, while their legal teams benefited from around $60 million in total from the lawsuits.
Just a few hours after reaching the agreement, Blake Lively appeared at the 2026 gala, while a day later her husband, Ryan Reynolds, published a smiling photo of them together.
Justin Baldoni was also seen a few days later in Nashville, walking hand in hand with his wife.
