Popular influencer Nara Smith has shared one of the most difficult moments of her life, revealing that her 2-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, has been diagnosed with cancer.
In a video posted to Instagram, the 24-year-old revealed that it all started late last year, when she and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, noticed something unusual about their daughter. They initially took her to the emergency room, but doctors were unable to give a clear diagnosis.
"When we went to the pediatrician, I remember the doctor suddenly became very calm. At that moment, my heart stopped. I don't know if it was my instinct as a mother, but the first thought that came to me was: 'She has cancer,'" Nara confessed.
Following the pediatrician's recommendation, the girl was immediately taken to the children's hospital, where she underwent tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, and finally a biopsy. Shortly after, the family received the phone call that changed their lives.
"The doctors told us that she had cancer, that the disease had spread, and that she needed to start chemotherapy immediately," she said.
Nara did not disclose what type of cancer it is nor did she provide details on Whimsy's current condition.

The influencer said the past few months have been extremely difficult for the family, especially as she was trying to cope while also going through the postpartum period of her youngest child. She admitted that balancing the hospital, caring for her three other children, and work has been a constant challenge.
"What has helped me the most is talking to other parents who are going through the same thing. It has made me feel less alone," she said.
At the end of the video, Nara explained that she decided to share the story not only to explain her absence on social media, but also to encourage parents not to ignore signs that seem unusual to them.
“I hope our story gives someone the courage to take control of something they've been putting off for a long time. Sometimes that can make all the difference.”
