People who suffer from migraines know very well how difficult it is to endure hours of terrible and constant headaches. These pains are so great that your words, however well-intentioned, still make the situation even more irritating.
If you can't sit quietly and say "I'm sorry" when someone tells you they have a migraine, the wrong one, don't say these sentences:
"That's how we all are, even I often get headaches"
See, there is a difference between migraine, which is a nerve disease, and regular headaches. Migraine pains can last up to 4 days, are accompanied by vomiting, sensitivity to smells, light, or noises. So please, for the sake of the sacrifice of people who have migraines and are keeping themselves from contradicting you in spirit, don't say it.
"You're psychological"
Simply, beautifully, in Albanian: Migraine pain has never been, is not, will never be psychological
"Why don't you do something, take your mind off it?"
Stop and ask yourself: What would you do if searing pain, nausea, sensitivity to light, and sometimes the inability to get out of bed, in many cases, combined, consumed you? Huh, what are you going to do? Now then!
"Did you drink water?"
Of course he drank water, because he is not a camel. Migraine pains are not cured by a glass of water, not even a whole stream.
