In an interview with Elle, she revealed that her biggest beauty obsession is bio-identical hormones. "I constantly read about foods, what I should eat, or how my hormones react. I have learned from many doctors and I am happy about that," said the actress.
Penelope Cruz combines good food with face creams and physical activity 4 times a week. She sleeps eight hours and always at the same time.
Bio-identical hormones are a form of anti-aging support, widely used in Hollywood, as a therapy that turns back the clock while maintaining the same glow and energy as if you were 30 years old.
Oprah Winfrey has also frequently promoted this therapy on her blog.
These bio-identical hormones are similar to those produced by the body itself and are used as (in theory) natural replacement therapy. But these hormones also exist chemically created.
Researchers are not very convinced about their use, as there are not enough studies on side effects.
On the other hand, the agency responsible for drugs and food in America has not yet approved any of these hormones, as it is suspected that it conflicts with their rules for consumer protection.
