Vinegar can be a very effective cleaning product. Many people are used to using it for everything from cleaning their electric kettles to cleaning windows. When mixed with water, it can also be used as the base for a homemade cleaning spray. However, experts warn that there are some things that should never be cleaned with vinegar.
There are many “tricks” circulating online that suggest using vinegar for everything from washing machines to clothes irons. Many people think that it is an all-purpose cleaner, but this is not true. Vinegar is very acidic, so it can remove tough stains and water deposits, but this very acidity also makes it harmful to surfaces such as wood, natural stone and electronic screens.

Surfaces that should not be cleaned with vinegar
1. Wooden surfaces (floors and furniture)
Even when diluted, vinegar can damage the protective coating of wood, such as on kitchen cabinets, parquet or furniture. Over time, it removes the shine and makes surfaces dull. In the case of untreated wood, it can also cause swelling.
Solution : use special products for wood.
2. Stainless steel equipment
Although it can be used diluted with water, it is not recommended. Vinegar can damage the protective layer of these surfaces.
Solution : use a cleaner dedicated to stainless steel.
3. Stone countertops (marble, granite, etc.)
Vinegar cleaners can scratch or damage natural stone surfaces.

4. Clothes iron and steam equipment
Some people use vinegar to clean the interior of limescale, but this can damage the internal parts.

5. Joints (spaces between tiles)

7. Electronic screens
