Most people are more honest than you think, except for a few "frequent liars," according to a 2022 study.

The average person might tell a little lie to avoid hurting someone or to make themselves look good, but pathological liars are more focused on feeling superior and enjoying manipulation. While it can be hard to tell when someone is making up a false story, they often use some typical expressions that give them away.
