Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have quietly ended their relationship after three years together.

“Ariana and Ethan broke up a few months ago, but they have remained friends and continue to have nothing but respect and appreciation for each other,” a source told Page Six. “It wasn’t a decision they made lightly, but they realized it was better to remain friends than to continue a romantic relationship.”

The source added that Ariana is very happy and focused on the new chapter of her life, with the "Eternal Sunshine" tour and the release of her upcoming album "Petal."

American media reported that the singer's new album, which is expected to be released on July 31, was not inspired by the breakup or her relationship with Ethan Slater.

Ariana Grande, 32, and Ethan Slater, 34, met while filming "Wicked." At the time, they were both married. Ariana was married to her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, while Ethan was married to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay. Ethan and Lilly have a son together, Ezra.

In June 2023, Lilly Jay reacted publicly after her ex-husband's new relationship with Ariana Grande was revealed.

"Ariana is the real story here. She's not a girl supporting girls. My family is just collateral damage," she declared at the time.

However, a source close to the couple said that Ariana and Ethan had done nothing wrong.

"Lilly is rightfully hurt because her marriage ended, but Ariana and Ethan did nothing wrong," the source said, adding that Ethan had been separated from Lilly for two months before he began dating the singer.

For the past three years, Ariana and Ethan have kept their relationship out of the public eye. However, in December, Ethan posted some private photos of Ariana celebrating the holidays at home.

On the other hand, Ariana seems to be calmly experiencing her new single status.

The singer kicked off her long-awaited "Eternal Sunshine" tour in Oakland, California, on Saturday and joked about her divorce during a performance of the popular song "Thank U, Next," which talks about her former partners, including Pete Davidson, Big Sean and Mac Miller.
