Can the toothpaste cause diabetes?

According to a study, a common chemical that cleanses foods, medicines, leaves, or toothpaste can cause type 2 diabetes.

Titanium dioxide crystals (widely used in food and makeup for its characteristic whiteness) have been found in the pancreas of many diabetic people. The said dioxide began to circulate in the mid-1900s to replace bullet-based color dyes in house painters: inks, plastic objects, and so on.

Scientists say that since 1960, about 4 million tons of titanium dioxide have been produced and since 1970, type 2 diabetes has quadrupled. So experts say that using this dye may be one of the main factors of this type of diabetes. Its particles being dissolved in food or drink enter directly into the blood stream.

Scientists at Austin, Texas say particles may damage the pancreas by provoking an immune response from white blood cells that cause inflammation and kill the healthy cells of the body. This means that the body can not properly regulate blood sugar levels, which increases the risk of heart attacks, kidney damage, or eye problems.
