The extraordinary story of the most selfish, wealthiest and most lonely man in

Most likely when you hear the billionaire word, John D. Rockefeller or Bill Gates comes to your mind. Of the same rank was J. Paul Getty, though far less known for the mass. The billionaire lived in the second half of the 20th century and was the richest man on the planet. Getty owned 80% of the world's oil. Born into a very wealthy family, J. Paul managed to run his wealth still higher.

Impressed after his history and tremendous sense of saving, the world counts at least two very good books on Paul Getty's biography, namely "Oil: People Who Changed the World" and "Painfully Rich: J. Paul Getty and His Heirs ".

Paul's parents believed that the Lord gives wealth to people who live by the rules. That was why they raised the boy in an incredibly authoritarian and harsh way. Since the first child died, the mother and father stopped the next billionaire from staying with friends, as they thought that just so the boy would not be transmitting any infectious disease from which their late child passed away. At the same time they began to say that they loved the younger Paul, for refusing to suffer again if he was too far away from life. J. Paul Getty believed in the theory of reincarnation. As soon as he saw a photograph of the statue of the Roman leader Trajan, he realized that he and the emperor were terribly resembling many. So since then it was said to say "I want to believe that the spirit of Trajan lives within me, and I want to act like that."

But despite the parent's education, the billionaire was no longer religious and humble before God's image. Rather, to reach where he often wanted to do "with the devil". For this reason (which actually cost him a lot), his father offered a terribly low financial support (humiliating even) and his free will, it was clearly stated in the testament that wealth would inherit his wife and not the son.

When he graduated from Oxford he decided to dedicate himself to the family business and his father decided to give him $ 100 each month. His first millionth, J. Paul Getty did when he was 23 years old. Indeed, it might have happened earlier if his father had given him the amount of money he so much asked, but he could never. Likewise, Mother also refused to give her large amounts of banknotes.

According to Forbes, in 1966, the Guinness Book of World Records regarded J. Paul Getty as the richest man in the world. His wealth reached 1.2 billion dollars (exactly $ 9.1 billion if we converge with 2017 standards).

Getty married 5 times and each of the women was young enough to be his daughter. According to biographers, 4 of the women were virgins.

Paul had 5 boys, one of whom died during a surgical intervention at the age of 12. At that time the billionaire was in Europe but refused to fly to America because his business could not wait until he went to his son's burial.

In 1973, the other son, whom Paul had considered his successor, also changed his life. At the same time, one of the boys sued after seeking more financial support from his father for himself and the brothers. Getty won the trial, but still gave the money to the children, though not as much as they wanted.

In 1973, his 16-year-old grandson was kidnapped and Paul refused to pay a certain amount to secure the juvenile's release. Reason? According to his logic, since he had 15 grandchildren, the same thing would happen to those who were at risk of a possible abduction.

When the kidnappers sent miliadredit away from the hair and grandchildren's ear and lowered their $ 3m sum, Getty agreed to pay no more than $ 2.2 million, 800,000 of which he loaned to his son (the father of a child who was kidnapped) with 4% interest. When John called his grandfather to thank him for paying the ransom, Getty refused to speak.

The billionaire bought Sutton Place in England from a Duke of ... .. and lived alone there, without bodyguards. The residence had 34 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. However, the richest man in the world never invited relatives to visit him.

When Getty died, family members, including devoted children and servants, did not profit almost anything. Much of his wealth went to the Malibu museum, turning it into the richest in the world. Experts praised his $ 2.5 billion worth of funds.

At that time, a young journalist commented on the billionaire's death:

"The richest, the most lonely and the most selfish person has died today. In 84 years of life, there is no penny for charity. "
