According to a series of reports, Robert Pattinson will assume the role of Batman, a role he played before Ben Affleck.

Variety writes that Pattinson is in negotiations for the protagonist role in "The Batman." This film was designed for Ben Affleck. He would write, lead and play the lead, but seeing the commercial failure, and not just "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League," Affleck gave up on the project. "The Batman" was handed to Matt Reeves, known for the director of "War for the Planet of the Apes."

Pattinson's participation in "The Batman" has not yet been confirmed and actor Nicholas Hoult is also being considered. But considering Pattinson's roles in the "Twilight," "Harry Potter," and roles in some feature films directed by directors like Davis Conenberg and Claire Denis, Pattinson is the favorite.

The footage will start at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next. "The Batman" is expected to be released in June 2021.
