Since being selected among the 4240 short films to compete at the Cannes Film Festival, The Van has been a hit at most of the festivals it has attended. Although the Albanian-French co-production, which returned Albania to Cannes for the second time after the movie "Skanderbeg in 1954, failed to win" Best Short Film ", is one of the most controversial films of the moment.
"The Van" won the best film award in its category at Molise Cinema Film Festival, Batroun Mediterranean Film Festival, Seanema Film Festival, Tetova Film Festival and Best Director Award for Mateo Cingun in the Balkans Film Food Festival. Finally, "The Van" also won Best Short Film at the Urban Films Festival in France.
Directed by Erenik Beqiri, played by the protagonists Arben Bajraktaraj and French actor Phénix Brossard, "The Van" tells the story of a young man (Phénix Brossard), who seeks to emigrate abroad.
