After receiving a petition with thousands of signatures, the council will discuss the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should their royal titles be removed.
The campaign on the official website of Brighton and Hove City Council was launched by Charles Ross, who opened the petition against the royals. So far, it has been signed by 3800 people and will be discussed by the council today (December 19)
The couple were given royal titles by Queen Elizabeth II after the wedding held in May 2018.
Because the Queen has given them the titles, she is the only one who can take them away. If you want, of course.
"We, the undersigned Brighton & Hove Council, reject the use of the titles" Duke of Sussex "and" Duchess of Sussex "by individuals Henry (" Harry ") Windsor and Rachel Meghan Markle because we consider them wrong and offensive to the County of East Sussex," written on the petition.
"As residents of Brighton & Hove we ask the council not to refer to these individuals with these titles as it is a non-democratic symbol of public oppression by the wealthy elite."
In the following, the petition asks the council not to grant any service or honor more than it would forgive the common people.
