Most people try to escape the law even after breaking it, just to enjoy freedom. In some cases, there are others who break the rules and commit a crime just because they want to be arrested. What drives them to do this ?! Various reasons that have one thing in common: They are sad!
1. Get medical attention
The need for medical attention has led to many people being intentionally arrested in 2012. Poor health and inability to cure have led people to deliberately commit unlawful acts, only to be arrested later. At least in prison doctors would take care of his life.
2. To quit smoking
A California woman in 2012 was arrested after she shot a deputy in the face. She waited for hours for an MP to come out to shoot her, knowing full well that she would be arrested later. Why did he do that? He wanted to quit smoking! She was granted a plea and remained in jail for 63 days.
3. Life in prison is better than street life
Another desperate reason makes people want to be arrested on their own. The reality is very bitter for lonely people who spend nights on the streets in the most outrageous conditions. There have been times when people have asked to be imprisoned because at least someone in prison will be offered a sandwich and a drink and when it is a cold storm, there will be a roof over their heads.
4. To try what prison means
There are those who are curious to know what life is like in prison. Those who tried it said it was more difficult than they had thought.
5. Loneliness
In Japan, the elderly choose to be intentionally arrested only because there are people in prison and so they will not be alone. Women who had no family and no relatives saw prison as an alternative to loneliness.
"I enjoy life in prison more. There are more people around and I don't feel it myself. When I came out the first time I said I would never come back, but I couldn't resist. -the prisoner who chose to be arrested to escape loneliness.
