"The Internationals" is a black comedy, directed by Pluto Vas and written by Ylljet Alickaj. The film, based on the latter's "Confessions with an International" book, premiered on the big screen about a year and a half ago, though the film was shot three years ago.

The purpose of this film was to demystify the image of foreigners in Albania. At a time when elections, self-esteem, a lack of political consensus and many other socio-political concerns seem to await resolution from international representatives, this film is still as relevant as the book published in the mid-2000s.

What is the movie talking about ?!

At the center of the plot is Roshi, played by Eni Shehu, an Albanian employed at the European Representation. He experiences the whole calvary of bureaucracies, elbows, steps before and after his career, love in the office and manages to see closely all the figures that the Albanian state mitigate and mount on the pedestal, simply because they are strangers and "know what they are saying." The "internationals" are described in vain as black comedy. The respect we treat foreign representatives in the country is so exaggerated that it reaches the level of ridicule.

Other roles included actors such as Ardian Cerga, Hervin Çuli, Karafil Shena, Rovena Lule, Kastriot Çaushi, Alfred Trebicka, Adele Gjoka, and others. The "internationals" reveal details showing that the relationship of Albanians with foreigners has not changed and has not yet taught us that we must first evaluate ourselves!
