Many people even went viral with this photo, assuming that Tom is hiding his ankle monitor, which is placed on his ankle:

First, sources for India Today and News Break deny the news that Hanks was arrested in Australia for pedophilia and held under house arrest. They assure readers that the actor was indeed infected with Covid-19.

Second, sources for Reuters, confirm that in the list of people who flew in the private plane of Jeffrey Epstein, the name of Hanks does not appear anywhere, thus refuting all allusions of cooperation between them.

However, the news that Tom Hanks has just received Greek citizenship has led to talk again about these "theories". The media say that Greece offered citizenship to Hanks, Rita Wilson (his wife) and their two children, in honor of the help they gave in raising funds for the victims of a deadly fire near Athens in 2018. Rita Wilson, actress and producer, is also of Greek and Bulgarian origin.
