Queen Elizabeth II has been a public figure for 94 years, yet she still has new things to learn about her. Today, it is her important dietary habits.
The queen's former chef, Darren McGrady, recently gave an overview of her favorite foods and the elements she totally avoids.
"Eleven years in the palace and we have never served pizza, not even for the dinners we served while waiting for other people," he told Insider.
McGrady also told US Weekly:
In the years I cooked at the Buckingham Palace, the queen never had pizza. "I never cooked pizza until I moved to Kensington Palace."
This move to Kensington, was when he started working for Princess Diana and cooking for Prince William and Prince Harry.
Another absolute "No"? Any food that is fast-food.
In fact, can you imagine the queen eating a hamburger and chips with her hands?
McGrady says that if she wanted that kind of food, the staff would prepare his specific version, for example: The Queen enjoys a hamburger, but without the top of the bun.
"Her Majesty's Victorian education dictates that the only thing that can be caught and eaten (drunk) by hand is afternoon tea," McGrady told Insider.
He continued:
"We always made our hamburgers. They (the royal family) hunted a deer and we prepared a hamburger with venison. We then stuffed it with other foods, but in the end, we never put the top of the bun so they could eat it with a fork and knife. ”
