In an interview with Ardit Gjebrean in "E diela shqiptare", Arilena Ara spoke about "Song Festival" and Eurovision 2021, among others. During the conversation, Gjebrea mentioned the ways in which different countries choose the representative song for Eurovision and asked her Arilena if she will go next year.

"For one thing I am convinced that Eurovision 2021 will be held. That's for sure. With or without Festival, with or without me. ”

A few days ago, Albanian Radio Television (RTSH)  confirmed  for ESCToday the participation in the next Eurovision Song Contest 2021, which will be held in the Netherlands. The singer's phrase "with or without me" seems to leave open her participation in the "Song Festival" this year. In confirmation for ESCToday, RTSH said that it is one of the countries that will not be represented with the 2019 winner.

In early July, RTSH  announced  that preparations for the 59th Song Festival have begun.

"Despite the situation created by the coronavirus, it is certain that even this year-end the biggest song event in the country will be held. The Deputy General Director of ART, Martin Leka held today the first consultative meeting with the creators, who have left their mark on this festival, musicians and songwriters. "Issues related to the quality of the festival were discussed at the meeting, ranging from the establishment of an evaluation committee for the selection of songs to the criteria for participation in the festival," the statement said.

According to the announcement, this month, the creators will present competing songs for the 59th edition.
