What is 'Astral Projection': The out-of-body experience

When we think of an "out-of-body" experience, we can think of events that occur, for example, near a fatal accident, that are so surreal that they seem to take you out of your current reality, but the mystical practice of astral projection actually allows people to have spiritual experiences, outside the body on purpose.

You have probably heard this term before, and perhaps you are even familiar with the idea of ??meditation until "removed" from your body, which sounds like something supernatural, but it turns out that the meaning of astral projection is much more than that.

The concept of astral projection depends on the belief that in addition to our physical bodies, humans also have an "astral body", which is sometimes referred to as a delicate body, or a light body. It can also be thought of as your “soul”.

In many esoteric practices, there is also something called an "astral plan" - and through this plan, people can explore during astral projections.

"Astral travels" are found in cultures around the world and are mentioned throughout history. They are practiced even today, during mystical and spiritual practices.

"Astral projection or astral travel is the ability to allow your body to lighten, go beyond the physical body and project itself into a certain place, even in certain places in time," shaman * Laura Brown tells Bustle.

* Shaman - A person considered to have access to and influence in the world of good and evil spirits, especially among some peoples of North Asia and North America.

"I have worked with astral projection to witness ancient civilizations and other sacred spaces on earth, and I have also used it to connect with further realms to gain knowledge of my spiritual work."

This practice allows our astral body to travel beyond the material world around us using our minds.

According to believers, we can move into spheres that transcend time and space - just like having a dream, only you are awake and aware of what is happening.

How does astral projection work?

Basically, astral projection means being able to dream while being aware. The goal is to transcend your physical being through your mind. Your physical body stays in place during the astral projection process, and the adventure takes place entirely in your mind.

Astral projection is not considered a science, but while science may not be able to prove that your soul is out on an adventure, various experiments show that it is clear that there is an interesting brain activity occurring that indicates a condition a experience differently.
