After the resignation of Hashim Thaçi, Vjosa Osmani has been officially appointed as the new president of Kosovo! The news was announced through the media, while Osmani himself is expected to address the citizens today at 17:00.

As provided by the Constitution of Kosovo, if the president of the country leaves his post before the mandate, then his post passes to the Speaker. 

The expert on the Constitution, Kushtrim Palushi said that this decision can not be opposed by political parties, as long as the constitution clearly stipulates it. Osmani will remain in the role of president for at least the next 6 months. If a new president is not elected within this time, the country must go to new elections.

Vjosa Osmani, Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo has been described many times by people as "the woman who dares to challenge the men of the LDK", as an example of "humanism and pride" and as "the most reasonable voice in the Parliament of Kosovo" after her powerful speeches shortly before the vote on the motion to topple Albin Kurti's government.
