Why November is the month dedicated to men!

If you see men with long mustaches during November or encounter the hashtag (#noshavenovember), know that they are thinking of a very important cause rather than just attracting the opposite sex with their masculine appearance.

Movember (mustache + november) is a symbolic event of the month of November, during which men of all ages raise their mustaches in order to raise awareness about men's health, specifically diseases such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer or mental illness such as depression. Like breast cancer awareness, the "movember" is a global movement aimed at "changing the face of male health".

This initiative originated 14 years ago in Australia, when a group of friends decided to 'revive' an out-of-fashion trend: the mustache! 30 men decided to join in to see how it would go and when they found out how much fun it was, they started raising money for next year in order to raise awareness about prostate cancer. In 2004, the event had a total of 450 participants who managed to raise a total of 43 thousand dollars, a figure that is negligible compared to that of 2012. 21 countries supported the initiative by raising $ 154 million.

Movember pushes men to do all the necessary checks to catch cancer in time and cure it effectively, thus reducing the number of deaths. They are also encouraged to lean towards a healthier lifestyle.
