Test: Find out how many colors you see and what it means to you!

It is known that the ability to see different colors varies greatly from person to person. The reason stems from the changes in the number of conical cells that each of us has inside the eyes.

These cells function as photoreceptors; the number you have affects how many colors of the visible light spectrum you can choose.

The simple test published below was created by Professor Diana Derval .

Answer the question and then check the answers to see "how you see the world around you" and how your perception of people differs.

Count how many colors and shades you can see in the spectrum:

Test: Find out how many colors you see and what it means to you!

If you see:

- Less than 20 colors:

You are a dichromat. This means that you only have two types of conical cells. 'However, do not worry - you are in good company here, as dogs have exactly the same kind of vision,' jokes prof. Derval.

Maybe you like to dress in neutral colors, black, beige or dark blue. 25% of the world's population are dichromates.

- Between 20 and 33 colors:

You have trichromatic vision. This means that your eyes have three types of conical cells. You are able to perceive well the colors purple, dark blue, green and red. 50% of the world's population has the same kind of vision as you.

- Between 34 and 39 colors: Wow!

Have tetrachromatic vision. Similarly to bees. you have four different types of conical cells in your eyes and you see most of the colors in the visible light spectrum.

Yellow may not be your favorite color.

Only 25% of people can see all the colors in the spectrum.

It is always interesting to compare your results with friends, so give them the opportunity to find out which group they belong to.
