What it is and how to avoid the 'sushi face'

If after a good sushi meal, you wake up in the morning slightly swollen in the face, you should be familiar with what the famous actress Julianne Moore calls "sushi face".

The movie star says she never consumes sushi before an important event because she knows that the next day her face will look more puffy.

What it is and how to avoid the 'sushi face'

It seems that in addition to foods that make us feel bloated in the stomach, there are some others that directly affect the face. What can you do if you do not like your puffy face?

1. Avoid salty foods.

Eating a lot of salt helps your body retain all its water reserves and as a result you wake up in the morning feeling more bloated. Although there may be many other factors that cause bloating, such as poor digestive system, stress, allergies, etc., experts suggest you be careful with salt.

2. Reduce carbohydrates

You are wrong if you think you have gained weight after 1 or 2 meals rich in carbohydrates. For every gram of carbohydrate you eat, your body retains 3 to 4 grams of water and as a result you feel bloated.

3. Stay hydrated

By drinking enough water you reduce the possibility of fluid retention and reduce the chances of feeling bloated. It is even better to drink a glass of water before consuming the next meal. Not only are you unlikely to swell, but you will also feel full.

4. Rinse face with cold water

Cold water helps reduce facial swelling as it narrows blood vessels. It is also the fastest and easiest way to fix circles under the eyes after a tiring night.
