A recent detailed study revealed an unknown detail about one of the most famous paintings in the world, "Scream" by Edvard Munch. The message written in the upper left corner of the painting, which was thought to be an act of vandalism, was actually written by Munch himself.

The National Museum of Norway discovered that the phrase "Kan kun være malet af en gal mand" (Can only be painted by a madman) was written by the artist himself, thus solving one of the mysteries of the work.
