If you were a teenager during the years 2003 to 2012, chances are that if you did not do it yourself, you have definitely seen someone painted like this:
The eye shadow or black pencil was indicative of many things at the time. For some, it was the sign that said you are "emo" and like pop punk music. For other girls, it was a girl makeup like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton or Jenny Humphrey (in Gossip Girl): Rebel!
However, rebellious or not, at certain moments this type of makeup has been used by almost everyone.
If you were a fan of that stage, congratulations! The shaded brush trend has returned strongly this year and we are seeing it everywhere on Instagram and fashion catwalks.

In fact, something like that was to be expected. With masks occupying half of the face, the focus has to go somewhere, so why not on the eyes. Or is it just the fact that we want to turn back time and feel like a teenager once again. Who knows!
