Dark Man X, popularly known as DMX, started looking for a successful debut in rap music as early as the 1990s, but did not have any major success. However he did not give up. Very soon, around 1997, he began to gain ground, initially appearing in DJ Clue mixes. And then came 1998.
This was the year that would put DMX on the music charts. His debut album "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" topped the charts and was followed by four other albums that topped the charts, such as "... And Then There was X", "Flesh of My" Flesh, Blood of My Blood, The Great Depression and Grand Champ.
His music was preferred for many reasons. Maybe the characteristic voice, a little rude, a little hoarse. Intensity and charisma did not leave him in the lurch. Lyrics like "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Party Up (Up in Here)" stand out immediately because of the beats and were favorites on the radio charts.
Over the course of his career, DMX stood out for its duality. He looked like a protected, physically invincible, yet he was clearly a broken man, haunted in a traumatic childhood. DMX looked like that man who was violent but who repented when he left. "A pastor carrying his demons on his shoulder as he tells you to believe in God," describes UdiscoverMusic.
DMX did not have the same career success as many other stars of his time, but nevertheless made sure not to be forgotten. Many of his songs are considered iconic. You will find a list below, arranged in random order.
