The secret letters that President John F. Kennedy sent to his secret girlfriend

Gunilla von Post was a Swedish aristocrat, whose name became famous because of the romantic relationship she had with John F. Kennedy during the 1950s.

The details of the secret relationship with the then American president, who was married, were published in 1997, in her book entitled "Love Jack".

But who was the president's (not so) secret girlfriend?

Gunilla and Kennedy met a few weeks before the latter married the former First Lady, Jacqueline Bouvier. In the summer of 1953, Kennedy met the Swedish aristocrat with whom he would continue the 3-year romance.

"You are wonderful and I miss you."

Kennedy and Gunilla stopped meeting after 1958.

What will happen today with love letters?

An auction in Boston will reportedly sell all three love letters JFK wrote to von Post shortly before his marriage to Jackie Kennedy.

So far it is thought the papers will last until May 12 and will sell for over $ 30,000.

"You can read someone's biography to learn more about their character, but here you read the thoughts and feelings written by a person like him," said Bobby Livingston, the auction's vice president.
