Carla Fracci, one of the most famous Italian ballerinas of the 20th century, has passed away at the age of 84.
The ballerina who with her performances mesmerized the audience in all the theaters of the world, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Fracci has always performed with partners of her level and has stood out for her fantastic performances in romantic choreography, among which we can single out the ballet "Giselle".
After a career as a ballerina, she ran ballet companies in many places in Italy, including Naples, Verona, Rome with the sole purpose of keeping ballet alive in places where opera has traditionally dominated.
Carla, not a little known for Albania, is known for her elegance and the way she transmitted her art through body movements. Speaking about her, Italian President Sergio Mattarella called her "one of the best classical ballerinas of all time."
The ballerina married director Beppe Menegatti in 1964 and they are the parents of a son, Francesco.
