Jason Derulo is spending the best time of his life with his son, who has the same name as him: Jason King Derulo. 

During a recent interview with People, Derulo revealed why he chose to name the baby after him. 

"My brothers have daughters, and so do my sisters, so I knew we needed a son to bear the family name. We needed a son because the name Derulo would otherwise be forgotten. I wanted my name to continue to be inherited and at the same time I thought it would bring me even closer to him, "said Jason, who became a father for the first time on May 8.

In terms of parenting, the singer calls it "the biggest challenge", especially at night, when he has to get up to see the little one.

"Sometimes I just wake up with one eye open and look at Jena (his partner) and wonder how she does what stays awake! Jena has been a super heroine all this time and I call myself very lucky."
