Dua Lipë's surprise arrival in Albania has a reason. The pop star revealed on Instagram that he is in Tirana to take a closer look at the process of building a kindergarten.
"I am honored to be in Tirana, Albania today to see the work with the construction of 'Sunny Hill Kindergarden' in the city center. After the earthquake in 2019 and with all your help to buy our 'Pray for Albania' t-shirts that I created with my friends @bondnyc, I doubled the funds we made with the t-shirts, which will go to the construction of this garden for 300 children. I am thankful to be here for the garden along with my family and friends. Thank you to Prime Minister Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj for all your help during this process. It will open on September 15, 2021. Thank you. "

As tradition would have it, Dua met with Mayor Veliaj and Prime Minister Rama, where they exchanged symbolic gifts. For more, click here .
The garden is being built by the Sunny Hill Foundation, a foundation created by Dua Lipa, which focuses on contributions in Kosovo and Albania in various aspects, especially in art and culture.
The Sunny Hill Foundation was founded about 5 years ago. The opening ceremony was organized through the concert that the singer held in Pristina where she promised that all proceeds would go to charity. In August 2018, the Sunny Hill Foundation donated 100,000 euros to charities, cultural events and music schools in Kosovo.
