Coconut oil gargle - Benefits of oral health

The use of oil, especially coconut oil, to practice what is known as "oil pulling" is becoming more and more popular and many people swear by the benefits to oral health.

"Oil pulling" is an old Indian practice that consists of putting oil in the mouth and holding it as a mouthwash. This practice has been used for thousands of years as a popular Indian medicine.

The way it works is simple - when you roll the oil around your mouth, the bacteria are removed and dissolved in the liquid oil.

Using coconut oil as a mouthwash can significantly reduce the number of harmful bacteria.

- Some say that sesame oil reduces bad breath. Coconut oil can have the same effect.
- Many claim that the oil can whiten teeth, although there is no scientific evidence for this.

You can use different types of oils, but extra virgin coconut oil is a more preferred choice because of its pleasant taste. There is no need to use too much force. If applying the oil causes pain in the facial muscles, relax a bit. Try to use less oil next time and do not roll it in your mouth forcefully.

Some people say that it is better to put the oil on an empty stomach, before brushing your teeth. Many place it in the shower or bath in the morning.
