Michael Schumacher's wife, Corinna, revealed that the former Formula 1 world champion is still struggling to recover from a brain injury as a result of a ski accident, but remains "here, but different", in a Netflix documentary to be broadcast next week.

"We all miss Michael, but Michael is here, different, but here," Corinna says in the documentary titled. He still tells me how strong he is every day.

Updates on the former Ferrari star's health have been rare since the crash in 2013, especially by family.

"We are together. We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and make sure he is comfortable. And just make it feel like our family, our connection. And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We will all do it. We are trying to continue as a family, just as Michael liked and still likes. We are still continuing. "

Schumacher is now 52 years old, while his son Mick, who was 14 years old at the time of the accident, is now racing for Haas in F1. Corinna married Schumacher in 1995 and they also have a daughter, Gina, but have always preferred privacy. The former champion has been under intensive care at their home in Geneva, Switzerland.

"We had always passed his races safely. That's why I was sure he had some guardian angels taking care of him. I don't know if it's some kind of defensive wall he thinks of himself or it's because "You're kind of naive, but I just did not think that anything could happen to Michael," says Corinna.

"I never blamed God for what happened. It was [accident], just bad luck, all the bad luck one could ever have in his life," she says.

"'Schumacher' features rare interviews and previously unpublished archive footage and traces a very sensitive and critical portrait of the seven-time world champion. This is the only film backed by his family," writes Netflix.

The documentary will be released on September 15.
