Learning to get involved and cope during a conflict is essential to interacting in society and in any relationships you create with people. Many people face difficulties the man they are conflicting with is someone who thinks he is always right, no matter how the facts of the situation are. How to deal with such a typology without stress ?!
1. Do not take it personally.
When you are involved in a discussion with someone who thinks he is always right, it is inevitable that you feel as if the attack is personal to you. The first thing you need to tell yourself is that his mindset is not about you. It is simply a learned behavior and his need to feel good about himself. Nothing more than that.
2. If you have the opportunity, get out of this conflict.
A man who refuses to listen and rejects criticism with all his might creates a fruitless debate. You will simply expend a lot of energy on yourself, so you better get away.
3. Do not start with the guilt game.
The need to convince them that they are wrong will unfortunately do nothing more than exacerbate the conflict.
4. Keep the conflict focused on a single issue.
People who want to always be right also tend to act like experts in whatever kind of argument they make, adding nowhere unfounded information. This in turn can irritate you and make you stray from the main topic of the conflict. Try not to do this and focus on the issue that interests you, for the sake of your mental health.
