Ed Sheeran did not have any problems with his hair, until an episode of "South Park" aired.
In a recent interview, the singer said that no one in the US mocked his hair until the episode of the animated series aired in 2005.
"Having red hair in England is something that people always joke about. But in the US this was not the case. "People in America did not know what ginger hair was."
"That episode of South Park ruined my life," he said. "I used to go [to] America and everyone would say, 'I like your hair.' And I thought 'Oh God, do people like my hair? And then I remember that episode that came out. "
The episode, titled "Ginger Kids", aired in the ninth season of the show, where Eric Cartman wakes up one morning with red / orange hair, referred to as "gingervitis".
The episode, which was written by co-creator Trey Parker, sparked controversy at the time following reports that it incited violence against people with red hair.
