Actress Amy Schumer talked about the possibility that her son, Gene may have autism. Her husband, Chris Fischer was diagnosed with autism at the time the couple had just been linked. Even earlier, Amy has spoken openly about the benefits that her husband's diagnosis has given to their relationship, saying that communication and reliance on each other has improved significantly.

"According to statistics, most likely our son will also have autism. Parents have different journeys with such children. Having a child with severe autism is difficult beyond my imagination. If Gene has ASD I will not be obsessed "to ask about the symptoms that are troubling. All my favorite people out like this! You just want your baby to be healthy and happy. I do not think it's so scary." talked about autism.

"Not everyone who has autism is a genius, but most of them have a certain talent in something. They are beautiful, loving, kind and good partners."

Asked in 2019 how she would cope if her son had autism just like her husband, Amy said she does not see it as something negative.

"My husband is my favorite man. I admire him. How can I not hope my son is like him?" She said.
