Separated from life Madeleine Albright, former First US Secretary of State

Madeleine Albright, the former US first secretary of state, who greatly influenced the direction of Western foreign policy after the Cold War, has passed away at the age of 84. The news of the death has been confirmed by Albright's family, adding that she has been battling cancer for a long time.

Albright was a very important figure in the administration of President Bill Clinton. The former secretary of state advocated NATO enlargement, urged the alliance to intervene in the Balkans to stop genocide and ethnic cleansing, sought to reduce the spread of nuclear weapons, and defended to the end human rights and democracy across the globe. .

An article in the New York Times a month ago, shortly before Russia invaded Ukraine, wrote that Albright thought Russian leader Vladimir Putin was making a "historic mistake" by attacking Ukraine and warned of the huge costs that would pay the Russian people.

Meanwhile, her voice has been very important for our country and the situation in Kosovo. In a post published a few minutes ago, Prime Minister Rama expressed his condolences for her separation from life, calling her "the woman who oversaw the path to Kosovo's freedom."
