We, the children of the Berlin Zoo

"We, the Children of the Berlin Zoo" (original title: "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo") is a novel-documentary with a shocking truth that broke the silence on drug use by young people.

It was first published in 1979 by German journalists K. Hermann and H. Rieck and starring Christiane Vera Felscherinow and was born out of a series of interviews that journalists conducted for about two months with Christiane, who at the time was accused and witnessed in a trial, which ended in June 1978 with her conviction for drug use and prostitution.
