Rihanna has returned to music after a 6-year hiatus. The singer released "Lift Me Up" that will serve as the soundtrack to "Black Panther, Wakanda Forever", but it seems that quite a few people are disappointed with the song.
"I'm sorry but this Rihanna song was a disappointment. Not what I expected," someone wrote on Twitter.
Although the YouTube commenters seem more sympathetic, there are not a few people who were just expecting something "wow" from Riri.
Pse?
First, the singer hasn't had a new release in years and, considering her previous hits, it's only natural that expectations will be high.
Second, considering the dynamism that characterizes Rihanna, everyone expected something of the "S&M" type in her comeback.
But what are people forgetting?
Well, this isn't exactly Rihanna's return to music because in the song Rihanna is simply the one delivering the message. "Lift me Up" is a tribute to the life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman, the American actor who tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after a secret 4-year battle with colon cancer.
