Hundreds of fans waited for Taylor Swift to leave a restaurant on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.
The pop superstar is said to have dined with friends at a dinner party hosted by Jack Antonoff ahead of his wedding to Margaret Qualley on Saturday.
After it was spread that Taylor Swift was present at the dinner, an "army of admirers" waited outside the restaurant to see the singer.
They broke into cheers when they saw Taylor, who looked surprised and scared.
Some users on social networks commented that such behavior is not characteristic of fans, but of "stalkers". “This is not the face of a woman who is happy to see you,” someone wrote.
"Wow, what courage!" said another. “You are not true fans. Real Swifties don't act like this,” read another comment.
