The artist has already reached the third age and in every public appearance she talks about aging without shame. Cher, regardless of facial interventions or treatments, says that the secret that has contributed to her longevity is related to diet and lifestyle.
Let's not forget that Cher's longevity has another factor, which is genetics, as her mother, Georgia Holt, lived to the age of 96.
But beyond genes, some lifestyle changes Cher made in 1991 may have contributed to her youthful appearance today.
Cheese seems to be one of the worst things for the body.
When Cher spoke to People 32 years ago, she said that eating junk food while filming music videos or movies made it very difficult to maintain a healthy diet.
This inspired the artist to seek advice from a nutritionist named Robert Haas, who helped Cher create an eating plan that would affect health and physical well-being.
Diet:
Removing cheese from the diet: “I try to avoid foods with a high fat content because they make me sluggish and put on weight. Dairy products are not good for us,” Cher told People. "I think cheese is one of the worst things for the body. It doesn't digest well and most cheeses are very high in fat and cholesterol."
Drink less milk: "I started consuming only skim milk and I started to feel much better," continues the artist.
Choosing healthier foods: Cher chose brown rice instead of white rice, replaced sweets with fruits like bananas and nectarines. The artist's meals include vegetables, pasta and legumes such as lentils and beans.
"The most important thing is to give yourself a fighting chance," Cher said during the interview. "I don't take drugs, I never drink coffee, alcohol, I don't eat red meat, so I live a healthy lifestyle," Cher concludes.
Note: If you decide to give up milk and/or its by-products, consult your doctor first.
