Jada Pinkett Smith, who has been married to Will Smith for 25 years (although they live separate lives, but technically, they are not divorced ), has said that the late rapper, Tupac Shakur, was her soulmate.

"Soulmate, yes," she said in an interview with Rolling Out. “If there are past lives, I think Pac and I have traveled through several lives. You mean, in different forms".

Jada was asked if she regrets not taking her relationship with the "All Eyez on Me" rapper to the next level and said it just wasn't possible. "There was no chemistry between us. I have also said it in the book. It's that friendship-love chemistry, believe me," said the actress.

Jada, 52, and Shakur met at art school in Maryland in the mid-'80s. They were close friends until the "Dear Mama" rapper was shot to death in September 1996.

In previous interviews, Jada has also talked about how she met 2Pac. "It was the first day, he came up to me and introduced himself. In high school, Pac had a bit of a funny look. Ultimately, from the looks of it, he wasn't exactly the type to deal with. But as soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet. The moment you paid attention to him, he absorbed you", she said.

A year after Shakur's death, the actress married Will Smith. Then, they gave birth to two children, Jaden, 25 years old, and Willoë, 22 years old.

As for Will, he has admitted that he used to be jealous of his wife's relationship with 2Pac, but regretted it, as it stopped him from forming a relationship with the late rapper.
