Which is better to cut your hair, dry or wet?

We all know that there are two classic ways to cut hair: dry and wet! But often people wonder if they should choose the first or the second to make sure that the best model is realized in the end.

A cut of wet hair happens after it has been shampooed, treated with softeners, while a cut of dry hair happens directly, without any pre-process.

Hairstylist Ashley Gomila says that many of her clients prefer the wet cut, as they need a break first, and according to professionals this type of cut is ideal for girls who have straight hair.

Whereas, as far as dry cutting is concerned, one of the main benefits is time, because this cuts down on the hairdresser's work, but also on the client, who can use the rest of the time with the commitments or tasks she wants.

Hairstylist Yetty Bames says dry cuts help stylists see hair as it is, meaning natural, in order to give clients the desired style without weakening or damaging hair by washing, brushing, softening or drying it. So, in other words, a separate process!

Dry cuts are suitable for all hair types, but are more ideal for those with curly hair. “You can see exactly where the scissors are going to be placed. Because wet curls shrink after they dry, so dry cutting directly helps to determine the length desired by clients," emphasizes Gomila.
