The government of Israel, amidst all the terrible war going on, took the time to see Gigi Hadid's reaction and give her a response on the reaction to the war between Hamas and Israel.
The model posted a statement on Instagram, which read: "Condemning the Israeli government is not anti-Semitic and supporting the Palestinians is not supporting Hamas."
"There is nothing brave about Hamas' massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their right against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do,” the Israeli government wrote on Instagram.
Then, in another statement on Instastory, the Israeli government said: “@gigihadid, did you sleep last week? Or have you turned a blind eye to Jewish babies being slaughtered in their own homes? Your silence has clearly shown whose side you stand on. We will see you".
In another post, the government published a child's bloody room, with the caption: "If you don't condemn this, your words mean nothing."
Last week, the model of Palestinian origin denounced and condemned "terrorism against innocent people" after attacks by Hamas and Israel.
Hadid explained that she does have "deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and their lives under occupation" (the Palestinian territories have been militarily occupied by Israel since 1967), but she also feels a responsibility to her Jewish friends.
The model made sure to point out that her "hopes and dreams for the Palestinians" do not include "harming a Jewish person."
"Terrorizing innocent people is inconsistent and does no good to the 'Free Palestine' movement," she said.
“This [misconception] has fueled a painful, decades-long cycle of revenge on both sides (in which no innocent civilian, Palestinian or Israeli, deserves to be a victim) and helps perpetuate the false idea that to be pro-Palestine is to be anti-Jewish.”
Gigi added that she believes that “every human deserves basic rights, treatment and safety; regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity or place of birth.”
Both Gigi and her sister, Bella Hadid, have been vocal advocates for Palestine for years. Their father, Mohamed Hadid, is of Palestinian origin, while their mother, Yolanda, is from the Netherlands.
