16 years after the shocking event, where Britney Spears appeared with a shaved head, finally, the reason why the singer made this decision comes to light.

"I was in the public eye growing up. People have been telling me what they thought of my body since I was a teenager. "Shaving my head and doing whatever I wanted was a way to respond," said the pop star in her memoir The Woman in Me.
However, Britney, 41, pointed out that her father, Jamie Spears, took control of her life in personal, medical and financial matters a year after she shaved her head.
"I realized that those days were over. I needed to grow my hair out and get back in shape. I had to get out of bed early and take the medicine they (doctors) told me to take."
She explained that one evening in 2007, Britney asked an owner of Esther Haircutting Studio to cut her long brown hair and she refused. So, Britney took the clipper herself and shaved her head, while the paparazzi photographed the event through the glass.
In 2008, Britney was admitted to a psychiatric hospital and her father began to control her whole life. For this, the singer says that she "didn't deserve" what the family did to her.
"The woman inside me has been barren for a long time. They wanted me to be crazy on stage and a robot the rest of the time," Brit wrote, among other things.
After she declared that the relationship with her father was abusive, she won the trial in 2021 and took control of her life.
