Murder on November 29

On the evening of November 29, around 20:20, gunshots were heard on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Pristina. After the police arrived at the scene, they found the dead body of Liridona Murseli, who had been shot in the car. What was said first

The first suspicions were of a robbery, since Naim Murseli, in the testimony given to the police, stated that two masked people had blocked their way and demanded their money and phones. On their way out, they shot his wife, Liridona.

The first doubts

Journalists, lawyers and activists called for a more detailed investigation, as according to them, the event did not look like a robbery. The former police colonel, Rrahman Sylejman, doubted how it is possible that the head of the family left the scene of the crime with the children instead of the mother.

Lawyer Arbër Jashari argued that generally, robbers do not rob private cars, as they target banks, cars with many people, businesses that have large sums of money in circulation, etc. Jashari added that robbers know that today people do not carry much money, jewelry or valuables.

"The robber did not intend to kill. That primary purpose is to instill fear in order to get the booty. The robber kills only when his life or identity is in danger. It is hardly credible that the robbers felt threatened, especially by a woman," he said on Facebook.

ARRESTS

Police in Kosovo announced that they arrested Granit Plava and Naim Murseli (victim's husband) suspected of the murder. According to the media in Kosovo, Granit Plava admitted that it was Naim Murseli who asked him to kill his wife and promised him 30,000 euros, a part of which he had given in advance. Late in the evening it was announced that a third person was arrested in connection with the crime. He is Kushtrim Kokalla, a member of the Kosovo Security Forces and the grandson of Naim Murseli.

According to some media, Naim Murseli has accepted the order to kill his wife Liridona, while he was traveling with his two children. These are only the first details that have been revealed after the arrest of the suspects and are expected to be confirmed by the law enforcement authorities once the necessary evidence is provided.

Naimi and Liridona had been married for 12 years.
