The Epstein case was recalled again with the publication of a new list of people who had visited the infamous island (information on which you will find below) and related to the financier Jeffrey Epstein. He has become one of the most discussed names of the moment, although he died in prison in 2019.
Jeffrey was accused of pedophilia, harassment and sex trafficking. He was a millionaire famous for his friendship with famous people, politicians, actors and VIPs of various professions. Epstein was first arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2005 after he was accused of paying a 14-year-old girl to have sex with him.
Many other underage girls also described similar sexual abuse, but prosecutors allowed the financier to walk out of jail and plead guilty to just one count. His conviction also brought Epstein's "abandonment" by well-known names, including Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who, after learning of the accusation, shook hands with the wealthy financier. However, Epstein continued his friendship with other rich and famous people, often meeting them at philanthropic programs.
It would be the Miami Herald that reignited public and prosecutorial interest in Jeffrey's strange sexual activity. Federal prosecutors charged Epstein with sex trafficking in 2019. He killed himself in prison while awaiting trial. Prosecutors then prosecuted Epstein's ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who allegedly helped recruit his underage victims. She was also convicted in 2021 and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
In 2015, one of the trafficked girls, Virgina Giuffre (Virginia George), filed a lawsuit against Maxwell. She was one of dozens of girls who sued Einstein, saying he abused them at his home in Florida and New Mexico. Virginia said that in the summer when she turned 17, she was lured from working as a doctor at the SPA at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club to become a masseuse for Epstein. This was a job that also involved sexual activity.
Giuffre claimed she was under constant pressure to have sex with men who were friends of Epstein, most famously Prince Andrew, the son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. For unclear reasons, she withdrew charges against Prince Andrew in 2022 and another charge against Epstein's former lawyer, Professor Alan Dershowitz, saying she may have "been wrong" to identify them as abusers.

Ai kishte një miqësi të afërt me Epstein. Edhe ai vrau veten në një burg të Parisit në vitin 2022. Jean po ashtu ishte akuzuar nga Giuffre për abuzim seksual.
