When it comes to the shelf life of foods, many people tend to be cautious whenever they shop at the store. The production date, expiration date, origin, product ingredients are just some of the elements that consumers pay more attention to.
But, many people are uncertain about the fact that what are those foods or drinks that never expire! It seems to be a list of foods that basically never expire, so before you open that next bag of rice or sugar, consider the fact that they can always be enjoyed since they don't have a set expiration date.
#1 Honey
Thanks to the "magical" work of bees (they have special enzymes that inhibit the growth of bacteria) and the way honey is processed, it is the longest-lasting food on this list. Honey is mostly sugar, so the low water content makes it difficult for mold or bacteria to grow.

#2 Rice
White or basmati rice can be stored for years, while brown rice and those with whole grains have a lot of natural oils that make them expire faster.

#3 Fresh coffee
How does coffee taste to start the day or fix the mood after a bad day? Coffee made from fresh, ground coffee beans is the solution. But if the coffee beans are exposed for a long time, especially if they are wet with water, there is a possibility of mold, which over time reduces its taste and aroma.

#4 White vinegar
Because it is so acidic, vinegar has a long shelf life. However, if you don't seal the bottle properly, bacteria can easily grow once the vinegar has been exposed to air.

#5 Vanilla extract
The pure, 100% vanilla extract that tastes great in favorite desserts lasts essentially forever, thanks to the alcohol content. Keep it in a cool, dark cupboard and you can always use it.

#6 Salt
You've probably asked yourself, "Does sea salt expire?" Salt, or sodium chloride, is a naturally occurring mineral found in the earth. So, it is not surprising that it stays fresh for a long time.

#7 Beans
Dried legumes contain a lot of protein and fiber that make them never expire, unlike other cooked or canned legumes.

#8 Sugar
White, brown, and even confectioners' sugar never expires because it doesn't allow bacteria to grow. As long as you keep it away from moisture, sugar lasts forever.

#9 Pasta
Packaged pasta has a best before date, but they basically last forever because they still taste great two years after you buy them. As for fresh pasta (that you make yourself), it should be consumed within two days, as it contains eggs.

#10 Powdered milk
Buy a box of skimmed milk powder now, store it in a cool, dry place and it will be usable for more than 10 years. Both water and milk fats are extracted to turn it into a powder, so it's essentially impervious to moisture.

#11 Tea
Like coffee, teas do not spoil easily. However, they lose their flavor and quality over time.

#12 Picante sauce
Keeping sauces in the refrigerator extends their shelf life. But if you want to free up space in the fridge, at least store it in a cool cupboard.
