Just imagine…An early morning, ready to start your day! The sun is shining and you, after drinking your coffee, are ready to take a shower and start your day. The detail you probably didn't anticipate is a spider that just comes out of the shower drain and gives you a not-so-pleasant "welcome".
This happens for many reasons: attraction to moisture, heat, the fact that the toilet is a closed environment, etc. But, you're in luck because there's a simple solution! Citrus fruits, especially lemons are a way to ward off pesky spiders.

Lemon peel contains limonene, a chemical compound that deters a variety of insects you don't want around your home. Showers are the last place you want to see a bug. To eliminate them, lemon peels should be kept as a natural remedy. Depending on the method you prefer, they can be used directly, sprinkled in liquid form, or lit as a lemon-scented candle.

Believe it or not, spiders are repelled by citrus fruits because of the strong wind. As a preventative method, rubbing lemon peels around the shower and near the drain can give them a warning. If you don't have skins, you can mix lemon juice with some water and keep it in a bottle, or simply light a lemon-scented candle.
The purpose of using lemon to keep spiders away is to fill a closed space like a toilet, with the strong smell of citrus, especially lemon that keeps these insects away from the shower, bathtub, sink, etc.
